Well nothing says a start to a winter vacation like a threatening blizzard and landing in a rain storm… right? Meghan and I planned this long weekend a little spontaneously to take advantage of some work travel. Although we almost cancelled due to the allure slash fear of missing the blizzard, we pushed on through.…
Bye Florida. Today was largely uneventful. It was a lot of drive to the airport, go through security, go through security again because you accidentally left the terminal, and then fly home. But before all that, I took a sunrise walk on the beach. It might have been one of the prettiest sunrises in the…
After two days of trying to find something “nature” related to do in Florida (besides walk on the beach), I finally achieved my goal. It was actually a really great day with no repeats visits like the previous days. I didn’t go back to the Gardens- just kidding of course I did. I tried new…
Today was overall a win. I got some yoga in, had a BLT, and ate dinner with my brother. In the loss column? A failed trip to a nature preserve. All nature is beautiful but I expected a little bit more for engagement. No big deal. Other exciting things compensated for that loss.
Every day when I’m at home I wake up at 6 am. In part because I try to get the 6:40 train to work – but also because I’m an early person. So, I just assumed that I would wake up in time for my morning yoga class – and I just barely did. I…
Welcome to Palm Beach! Or at least a slightly less amazing area 10 minutes to the west of Palm Beach. Whatever. The beach is still the beach. I’m down here for a few days chaperoning Jake on a school trip. Despite how much time we spend together in general, this is our first trip together……
With only two-ish days left in the vacation, things are beginning to slow down. The last couple days of this trip are a little different than initially intended. I had some hopes of getting to Hallstatt because … everyone loves a picturesque mountain side lake. However, with the border refugee situation it didn’t make as…
I’m almost always most content and happy when I’m in nature. Clearly I’ve become invested in Vienna’s city doors and architecture… but I was ready for a slight change of scene. My original plan was actually to visit Budapest – but our hotel concierge very quickly put a stop to that. Just because you can…
When I first began thinking about this trip to Austria, the only thing I knew about was the Opera House and the dancing horses. I wasn’t totally sure that I was interested in going but I very much changed my tune. I happened to walk past the stables yesterday and it just felt special. Unfortunately,…
In the event you are wondering where all the world’s cigarette money goes, it must be to Germany and Austria. I’ve never seen so much in my entire life. I’ve travelled to Asia, South America, Italy, etc… and none of it compares. I came back to the hotel today and just felt like it had…
